Game On!

I just earned a neat little badge for my work with www.3dgamelab.com in my "quest" to develop a new way for students to learn AP Biology.

I am very excited to see where this will take me as my next steps are to create a "development team" comprised of colleagues and students. My goal is to have Detritus 449: AP Biology - The Game ready to play by the Fall. It will be a ton of work, but I feel this coupled with Project/Challenged Based Learning activities in the classroom will help my students in the long run with regard to the inquiry-based curriculum of AP Biology.

For those unfamiliar with quest-based learning, sneak a peak at this video which describes an overview of where this could lead: http://youtu.be/fwk0oCMWFzY

Here is a video from a "student's" perspective on quest-based learning: http://youtu.be/wsen5rg7Lb0

I am always looking to connect with any educators or anyone else who may be interested in helping with this project or willing to share any ideas.

The Revolution...starts now!

  1. I've started using 3D GameLab this year with my 6th and 8th grade Science students. It's been an awesome way to gamify my courses and keep track of everything all my students are doing! I blog at http://educatoral.com/wordpress
